CASE GOODS GENERAL INFORMATION
- The inset side panels of all of the pieces, and the armoire doors are 3/4" thick. They are designed to "float" within their flames. This method helps to avoid splitting which can occur from normal expansion and contraction of solid wood panels.
- The one inch thick tops of all of these pieces are fastened to an internal frame with screws inserted through "oversized" holes. This again allows for the expansion and contraction of the top panel.
- All of the wider chests and dressers have solid hardwood frames at the top, bottom and between every drawer.
These frames add strength to the piece and limit racking corner to corner.
- There are small nylon feet at the foot of each leg of all pieces, thus there is no direct contact between the legs and the floor.
- The drawer glides are "ramped" so that they close on their own when they are 1-1/2" open or less, keeping the drawers closed and not allowing them to bounce open when slammed. The drawer glides are epoxy-enameled steel and are rated at 100 pounds.
- All drawer boxes will be in a Natural Finish. The drawer fronts are individually adjusted to each drawer to even out the spacing around them. Drawers are numbered under the bottoms to assure their fit into the correct slot once removed. Drawer fronts are replaceable if damaged.
- The cases will be shipped with the drawer pulls reversed. (The knob on the inside of the drawer box.) This is to avoid freight damage.
- No special tools other than a screwdriver will be needed to attach The Mirror Mounts to the back of a dresser or chest. The Mirror Mounts are pre-drilled so that the screws will hit the frames between the drawers in the case. The mirror can be positioned anywhere on the top of a dresser. It does not have to be centered on the case.
- The inside of the back of The Nightstand, The Armoire Top, The Chifforobe, The Hutch and The Bookcase are of ash veneer on hardwood plywood, not just plywood. Solid White Maple pieces will have backs of a smooth, closed-grained hardwood plywood.
- The Armoire Top and Chifforobe have raised-panel doors, as opposed to the flat inset panels on the sides. These doors add character to the pieces and tie in with the bevel of their tops. The Armoire Top includes brackets to attach it to the 2-Drawer Chest, which is its base.
